New Video: Sarkodie – Gboza

At this point there is no denying that Sarkodie is the king of rap in Ghana and arguably one of the best in Africa. I have yet to see another rapper as consistent as him when it comes to not only releasing music but killing features.

Check out his new video for his latest single Gboza. The single was produced by M.O.G  and the video was directed by Prince Dovlo

Video: Sarkodie Ft Runtown – Pain Killer

There’s no denying that Sarkodie is the king of Hip-Life in Ghana right now, his work rate is second to none. He kicked off his 2017 collaborating with Mr Mad Over You Runtown on the single Pain Killer. The track was produced by T Spice and the video was directed by Gyo Gyimah of the Phamous Philms collective.

These Ghanaian x Nigerian collaborations need to keep happening, they work so wonderfully together! See what happens when we all get along? lol

I’m not quite sure the location of this video shoot but I must say the scenery is gorgeous! Check out the video..

New Video: E.L – Lalafalama

Oh E.L.. Even if I am a tad confused nowadays with your sound I will always have a soft spot for you..

Now depending on how long you have been visiting this blog you will know that once upon a time I was the biggest E.L fan, he could do no wrong in my eyes. However lately and for the past 2 years or so I seem to be confused by which route, direction and sound he really wants to go for. Don’t get me wrong, I get that he wants to be multifaceted and prove that he can dabble in plenty of sounds however I as a listener just get a little lost when he jumps from the popular Afrobeats sound, to a trap/Hip-Hop sound and then over to a more slow and relaxed sound and so on, I get a little confused (Like I did with Drake at first lol) . I don’t get how to bracket him and if I was marketing him as an artist I would not know which genre or lane to steer him down as he just has a lot of music going on. Anyway.. That aside he is still one of the hardest working talents coming out of Ghana and I can not fault his creativity so with that being said… Check out the visual for his track Lalafalama which was shot on location in Ghana and directed by Pascal Aka. I can’t figure out if this is a totally new track, a refix of the ASAP Mob Hella Hoes  single or something that is off one of his mixtapes, either way.. Enjoy!

New Video: M.anifest Featuring Nomisupasta – Cupid’s Crooked Bow

In love with my Acid Rap but leaves nothing to Chance..

Award winning Ghanaian Hip-Hop artist M.anifest is back this time with the visual to his second single Cupid’s Crooked Arrow off his highly anticipated new album Nowhere Cool  OUT NOW, the single features seductive vocals from South African vocalist Nomisupasta. The video was shot on location in Accra Ghana and was directed by Guto Bussab & Alfonzo Franke of Muti Films.

“Cupid’s bow was crooked and found the wrong lover. That’s how it’s felt in some of my prior relationships. The song was inspired by having been loved by a woman or two who always knew the difficulties of dating an artist, never wanted to make that choice, yet we found ourselves in a spin of intoxicating love that always threatened to end. Nomisupasta is easily one of my favourite contemporary voices in Africa, and she smashed it on this one.” M.anifest

Like I say every single time I post a M.anifest video.. He is criminally underrated in the African music scene!! He has been consistent with his quality lyricism, great visuals and all round great music for some time yet for some reason he does not seem to cut through to the masses. Either way this is yet another quality single from the well respected Ghanaian Hip-Hop artist who has worked with the likes of Damon Albarn and Erykah Badu to name a few and continues to shine in a lane that many artists refuse to cross.

If you have Apple Music the album is out on there! Guess what I’m listening to this week!?

New Video: Sarkodie & Ace Hood – New Guy

Among all the cafuffle (Yes I said cafuffle) prior to it’s release I’m surprised the video actually came out and quite pleasantly pleased at how good turned out. Don’t get me wrong I  for one know that Sarkodie can hold his own but sometimes when African artists collaborate with big American acts they tend to get a little lost but boy oh boy Sark proved me wrong.

Sarkodie links up with Ace Hood for his new single New Guy. The video was shot on location in Miami and was directed by Justin Campos of Gorilla Films.
