New Video: Burna Boy Ft. Lily Allen- Heaven’s Gate /Sekkle Down (feat. J Hus)

In all honesty I can’t really call this Afrobeats can I? I mean it is an African/Afrobeats artist but it’s at that weird line where it’s like Afrobeats/Afroswing/ Afropop/whatever genre we are calling the sound coming out of the UK. And I never know if I should or shouldn’t post on them. I mean, technically it is music of the diaspora so it should be posted, but then again it does not really classify as “Afrobeats” per say… But then again.. What is Afrobeats? It’s a Potato, potarto, tomato, tomarto situation! We will see how this year pans out.

Burna Boy links up with Lilly Allen for his latest single Heavens Gate.

This is a little different from what we are use to from Burna but then again  he has always marched to the beat of his own drum and put out amazing sounding music either way.

Check out the video for Heavens Gate below.

I’m not actually sure who was on the production but its SICK. I really love live sounding productions. It just adds that flavour!

I also have the video for his latest single with Lilly Allen lined up but I have to get though this back log of posts first :/

New Video: Juls Featuring Burna Boy – Gwarn

I’m not going to hit you with another “Why I love Juls” post because I’ve given you several throughout the year.. Instead I am just going to say that if there was an award for MVP in Afrobeats this year I would give it to him. CONSISTENCY and QUALITY!

We haven’t fully digested the visuals for After Six yet and here we are with another quality visual from Juls for his latest single Gwarn featuring Burna Boy. The hilarious animated video was created by long time collaborator Poka Arts

Check out the animation below.. I love it!

New Music: Juls Featuring Burna Boy – Gwarn

Speaking on Juls..

If there was an award for Breakthrough Act hands down it would go to my favourite artist of the year Juls. The producer has been consistent throughout the whole year from his Leap of Faith LP and the visuals and his production credits on tracks including Rock Your Body with Burna Boy. Celebrating his successful AFRIMMA award for Producer of the Year and his MOBO nomination for Best African Act Juls continues with the release of his latest single Gwarn featuring Burna Boy.

This has already been getting the severe repeat treatment from me since it was released yesterday. There is just something about Juls and Burna boy that my ears appreciate so much. They work so well together!

Take a listen and let me know what you think..

New Video: Burna Boy – Rock Your Body

I’ve started to develop this very annoying habit of watching music videos but forgetting to post it on here. I’m sorry 😦

About 3 weeks ago Burna Boy released the visuals for his popular single Rock Your Body. Anyone who knows me personally will know that this is actually one of my favourite tracks of the whole year. I don’t know if its Juls on the production or the way Burna Boy delivers his flow over the track. Maybe it’s a combination of both. Whatever it is, I constantly have this song on repeat. When you sit in my car you are more than likely to hear this track at least three times with me screaming YA YA YA YA YAAA before we get to our destination. I love it so much !!

Anyway.. If you have not done so already check out the (creepy) visuals for Burna Boys single Rock Your Body produced by the one and only Juls.

P.S check out my next post on their latest single together.

Lately I’ve been on my toes, enemies been on a mission..

Burna Boy can do no wrong and continues to add to his string of hit singles with his latest track Pree Me. The video looks like it was shot on location in South Africa. After completely shutting down the Eventim Apollo in London on his Homecoming Tour it would great to see what Burna has up his sleeves for the people in 2017.
